Men's soccer team advances to MIAA Tournament championship game with 2-1 win over Hope
Olivet College sophomore Jon Puente (Kalamazoo/Galesburg Augusta) scored twice to lead the Comets to a 2-1 win over Hope College today in the semifinals of the 2012 MIAA Tournament at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet. Olivet advances to play at top seed Calvin College in the championship game Saturday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.

Men’s soccer team defeats Alma, 3-1, for school-record 15th win of season
The Olivet College men’s soccer team rallied from a 1-0 halftime deficit to beat Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Alma College, 3-1, today at Scotland Yard in Alma. With the win, the Comets have broken the single-season school records for overall wins (15), MIAA wins (10) and MIAA points (30). In addition, Olivet has secured the #2 seed for the 2012 MIAA Tournament, which begins next Thursday, Nov. 1.

Men's soccer team slips two spots in regional poll, receiving votes in national polls
The 14-2-1 Olivet College men's soccer team has slipped two spot to No. 4 in National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Central Region Poll. In addition, the Comets are only receiving votes in the NSCAA Division III national rankings and No. 23 in the D3soccer.com Top 25 poll.

Russell leads men’s soccer team to 2-1 overtime win at Kalamazoo
Sophomore Esteban Russell (DeWitt) scored both goals to help the Olivet College men’s soccer beat Kalamazoo College, 2-1, in overtime this afternoon at Mackenzie Field in Kalamazoo. Today’s win was the second time this season the Comets have beaten the Hornets in overtime this season. Back on Sept. 26, Olivet defeated Kalamazoo, 1-0, in double OT.

Men’s soccer team loses heartbreaker to Hope, 2-1
The Olivet College men’s soccer team lost a heartbreaker to Hope, 2-1, today at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet. With the loss, the Comets have a 13-2-1 overall record and drop to second-place in the MIAA standings with an 8-2 record.
