#KnowYourOCAthleticsStaff: Sammy Whiteman

With only a few athletic teams competing this fall, we knew the Olivet College fans are going to miss sports just as much as our student-athletes, coaches and athletic staff. We are hoping to fill that void by having some special content on our website throughout the semester. On Mondays, you will get to #KnowYourOCAthleticsStaff through some questions and answers with our head coaches and athletic administration.

Question 1: What is your name?
Answer 1: Sammy Whiteman

Q2: What is your current job title?
A2: Head Athletic Trainer

Q3: How long have you been at Olivet?
A3: I am currently in my fourth year working at Olivet College.

Q4: What made you decide to come to Olivet?
A4: Olivet College has an overall great atmosphere of students and staff. There is a warm family feeling which surrounds you and makes you feel like home.

Q5: What is the number one reason you tell a prospective student-athlete on why he/she should attend Olivet?
A5: Olivet College is a place where you can get the full experience, where you can fulfill the dream of being a collegiate athlete while still focusing on academics and your social life. Olivet College is also very affordable. It's the full package for a student-athlete.

Q6: Where did you attend college?
A6: Undergraduate: Bowling Green State University; and graduate: Walsh College.

Q7: Did you play any sports in college?
A7: No, but I played intramural volleyball and whiffle ball.

Q8: What is an interesting fact about yourself that nobody knows?
A8: I grew up on a farm and am a huge fan of Ohio sports like The Ohio State University, Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns.

Q9: Family?
A9: My mom, dad, and sister all live in Ohio. Go Bucks!

Q10: Any other information you want to share about yourself?
A10: Ranch is my favorite thing to pair up with any food.
