Bio

You were a member of the football and track and field teams at Olivet, earning four varsity letters in football and three in track and field.

As a member of the football team in 1961, you served as a co-captain and the Comets finished the season with an 8-1 record. For your efforts, you earned first-team All-MIAA honors and were named to the AP All-Star Team.

As a member of the track and field team, you participated in the shot put, discus and javelin throws. In 1959, you were selected as the team’s most valuable.

Off the athletic field, you were a member of the Kappa Sigma Alpha fraternity, Debate Club, Comet Council, Intersociety Council, Radio Club and Monogram Club. You also received a presidential citation for your work as the May Festival chair.

In addition to your bachelor’s degree from Olivet, you have a master’s degree from Syracuse University and doctorate from Wayne State University.

Prior to your retirement in 1994, you taught and coached at various schools in the state of Michigan. For more than 40 years, you have been an active member and volunteer for numerous organizations in Michigan and Washington.

Olivet honors you and is proud to induct you into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame on this 13th day of September, 2008.
