FERRUM, Va. – The University of Olivet men's tennis team began its spring break trip with a 6-3 win over Ferrum (Va.) College today at the Burrows-Skeens Tennis Courts.
- Final Score: Olivet 6, Ferrum 3
- Location: Burrows-Skeens Tennis Courts; Ferrum, Virginia
- Records: Olivet 3-4 overall, Ferrum 0-5 overall
- The Comets won two of the three flights in doubles and four of the six flights in singles to post the 6-3 win.
- Sophomore Ryan Ganger and freshman Alex Jonas won 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.
- Freshmen Josh Moore and Austin Whitney claimed an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
- Jonas coasted to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles.
- Moore earned a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles.
- Senior Trevor Lewis had matching 6-3 set scores to win in straight sets at No. 2 singles.
- At No. 6 singles, Ganger won the first set, 6-3, before needing to win a tiebreaker 7-0 for a 7-6 win in the second set.
- The Comets remain in Virginia to play Randolph College Tuesday afternoon, starting at 3:30 p.m.
