School-record 111 student-athletes land on 2013-14 MIAA Academic Honor Roll
A school-record 111 Olivet College student-athletes have landed a spot on the 2013-14 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Academic (MIAA) Honor Roll. Olivet topped the 100 plateau for the first time in school history, with the previous high being 91 for both the 2006-07 and 2007-08 academic years.

Three Olivet College football players, Braden Black, Kyle Bryson and Justin Madar, have earned All-MIAA honors. In addition, senior punter Anthony Edwards has received the Pete Schmidt Scholar-Athlete award.

Olivet College sophomore quarterback Braden Black (Battle Creek/Harper Creek) broke three single-game school records and three single-season records, but it was not enough as Trine (Ind.) University rallied to beat the Comets, 47-41, in overtime this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

The Olivet College football team improved to 3-0 on the season with a 34-7 over Rockford (Ill.) University this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex. The 3-0 is the best start to a season since 2004 when the Comets also had a 3-0 record.
