Men’s Track and Field: One school record broken, two wins and other personal- and season-bests achieved at Davenport Invitational

CALEDONIA, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's outdoor track and field team broke one school record, won two events and other personal- and season-bests were achieved at the 2024 Davenport University Invitational, held at the Farmers Insurance Athletic Complex.
- Freshman Owen Fremeau broke his own school record in the discus throw with a heave of 154 feet, 9 inches.
- Senior Jordon Brown was first of 35 runners in the 200-meter dash, clocking-in at 21.71 seconds.
- Freshman DeVondre Chandler shared the top spot in the high jump, clearing the bar at 6 feet, 5-1/2 inches.
- Senior Chris Davis ran a personal-best time of 1:56.63 in the 800-meter run. The time is fourth all-time in school history.
- Also in the high jump, junior Jake Watkins had a lifetime-best mark of 5 feet, 9-3/4 inches.
- Posting season-best performances were:
- Freshman Dade Allen in the 1,500-meter run (4:58.21)
- Freshman Deegan Bodell in the 1,500-meter run (4:36.27)
- Freshman Austin Cole in the discus (135 feet, 7 inches) and shot put (46 feet, 8-1/4 inches)
- Sophomore Anthony DeVito in the 800-meter run (2:06.67)
- Sophomore Charles Goldman in the long jump (18 feet, 8-1/2 inches)
- Senior Hunter Hillard in the 1,500-meter run (4:14.51)
- Sophomore Jonathan Holloway in the 400-meter run (52.61)
- Freshman Wanyai Johnson in the 100-meter run (11.83)
- Freshman Keegan Nutt in the pole vault (14 feet, 3-1/2 inches). The mark is third best in school history.
- Olivet competes at the Al Owens Classic, hosted by Grand Valley State University next Friday and Saturday, April 18-19.
