Men’s Track and Field: Olivet takes first at Comet Triangular

OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's outdoor track and field team hosted Adrian College and Cleary University for the 2024 Comet Triangular at the Cutler Athletic Complex and on the Kolassa Track. The Comets scored 135 points to win the team title by 13 points over Adrian.
- Freshman DeVondre Chandler broke the school record in the high jump, as he cleared the bar at 6 feet, 8-1/4 inches. The previous record was 6 feet, 8 inches by John Allen during the 1976 season.
- Senior Jordon Brown clocked-in with the fastest time in the 200-meter dash (21.66) and second-fastest time in the 100-meter dash (10.93). The 100 time ranks fifth in school history. He also had the top mark in the long jump (22 feet, 4-1/2 inches).
- Senior Chris Davis took first place in the 800-meter run at 1:57.22 for the fourth-fastest time in school history.
- Freshman Luke Leighton finished second in the 400-meter dash (52.70).
- Freshman Kem Blassingame placed second in the 400-meter hurdles (1:03.34).
- The 4x100-meter relay team of Brown, sophomore Dontal Wright, freshman Kyle Redd and sophomore Jonathan Holloway was second in 43.15 seconds.
- The 4x400-meter quartet of Davis, Holloway, Brown and Wright ran the second-quickest time at 3:27.61.
- Freshman Owen Fremeau posted a pair of first place finishes in the hammer throw (147 feet, 10 inches) and discus (133 feet, 8 inches).
- Freshman Austin Cole won the shot put (45 feet, 7-1/4 inches) and was second in the discus (128 feet, 7 inches).
- Sophomore Charles Goldman had the winning mark in the triple jump (37 feet, 1/4 inch).
- Olivet participates in the Davenport University Invitational next Friday and Saturday, April 11-12.
