Brown and Chandler named to USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region team
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Olivet College senior Jordon Brown and freshman DeVondre Chandler have been named to the 2024 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Great Lakes Region team. The top five individuals and members of the top three relays in each region receive this honor.
Brown ran the region's fastest time in the 200-meter dash (21.26) and fourth-fastest 400-meter dash (47.73). The 200 time is also a school indoor record. He narrowly missed landing on the list in the 60-meter dash, as he had the sixth-fastest time (6.90). Chandler ranks third regionally in the high jump with a school-record 2.04 meters (6'8.25") mark.
Brown is now a seven-time USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region honoree. He also earned the honor in 2020, 2021 and 2023 indoors, and 2021, 2022 and 2023 outdoors. Brown is the first men's track and field student-athlete in school history to be a four-time All-Region Indoor selection.
Brown and Chandler will represent Olivet in their respective events at the 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday and Saturday in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Brown will run in the 200- and 400-meter dash preliminaries on Friday. The finals in those events will take place on Saturday. Chandler will compete in the high jump on Saturday afternoon.
