Track & Field: Brown’s three wins lead Olivet to sixth-place finish at MIAA Indoor Championships

ANGOLA, Ind. – Senior Jordon Brown won three individual events to help The University of Olivet men's indoor track & field team place sixth at the 2024 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championship today at the Keith E. Busse/Steel Dynamics Athletic and Recreation Center.
- Brown captured the MIAA titles in the long jump, 400-meter dash and 200-meter dash. He began the day with the long jump title, leaping 22 feet, 7-1/4 inches on his first attempt. The mark held up for the top mark. Brown then won the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.79 seconds. He saved his best performance for last, winning the 200-meter dash in a school and MIAA record time of 21.64 seconds. The time moves him up into the Top 20 on the NCAA Division III Performance List. Brown is now a two-time MIAA champion in the 200 and 400.
- Freshman DeVondre Chandler won his first MIAA title, as he cleared the high jump bar at a school-record mark of 6 feet, 8-1/4 inches. The mark currently sits tied for 10th on the NCAA DIII Performance List.
- Senior Chris Davis placed fourth in the mile run (4:19.32).
- The distance medley relay team of sophomore Anthony DeVito, sophomore Jonathan Holloway, freshman Deegan Bodell and senior Hunter Hillard was fifth (12:03.89).
- In the shot put, freshmen Austin Cole and Owen Fremeau were fifth and sixth, respectively, with marks of 13.88 meters and 13.61 meters.
- Senior David Sinkler finished eighth in the weight throw (13.81 meters).
- A select group of student-athletes will compete at a last chance meet next week.
