Brown tabbed MIAA Indoor Track Athlete of the Week
HUDSONVILLE, Mich. – Senior Jordon Brown from The University of Olivet has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Indoor Track Athlete of the Week. He is earning this honor for a third time this season.
Brown, a Niles High School graduate, finished third in the 400-meter dash at the Grand Valley State University "Big Meet." His time, 47.73 seconds, broke the school record and ranks sixth on the NCAA Division III Indoor Performance List. Also, at Grand Valley, he placed seventh in the 200-meter dash (22.04) and 30th (of 47 runners) in the 60-meter dash (7.08). Brown was the highest Division III finisher in each of the three races. He also ran the third leg of the 4x400-meter relay (3:25.24).
"Jordon continues to make improvements every week on and off the track," said Olivet head coach Karen Lutzke. "He is more confident and focused on what he needs to do to achieve his goals."
Brown and the Comets are back in action Friday at the Saginaw Valley State University Tune-Up. Field events start at 2:30 p.m., followed by running events at 4 p.m.
