#AlumniFeature: Christine (Moulton) Pedder
With only a few athletic teams competing this fall, we knew the Olivet College fans are going to miss sports just as much as our student-athletes, coaches and athletic staff. We are hoping to fill that void by having some special content on our website throughout the semester. On Tuesdays, we will be posting #AlumniFeatures with some questions and answers from alumni. If you would like to be featured, please send the answers to the questions at the bottom of this page to Geoff Henson at ghenson@olivetcollege.edu. |
Question 1: What is your name?
Answer 1: Christine (Moulton) Pedder
Q2: What sport(s) did you play at Olivet?
A2: Soccer, Track & Field, and Winter Cheerleading
Q3: What years did you attend Olivet?
A3: 2007-2011
Q4: Were you involved in anything besides your athletic team at Olivet?
A4: Member of Hosford Society of Scholars and Omicron Delta Kappa, Writing Tutor, Editor and contributing writer for the Echo, contributing writer for Shipherd's Record, athletic department intern (under Geoff)-focused specifically on covering men's soccer and wrestling.
Q5: What is your favorite memory from your time at Olivet?
A5: I have to pick just one? I would say, our senior soccer season was amazing. We had an awesome team and everyone gelled really well together. I also received the Morris Award at graduation and was commencement speaker; those memories also tie with soccer.
Q6: Where do you live now?
A6: Troy, Michigan
Q7: What is your current occupation (or former if retired)?
A7: I am currently a graduate research assistant at Wayne State University in the Kinesiology, Health and Sport Studies department where I am pursuing a PhD in Community Health and currently studying the relationship between physical activity and cognitive behaviors in children.
Q8: What piece of advice would you give a current Olivet student-athlete?
A8: Set aside time every week for yourself. Take a walk around the square or get ice cream at Tim's. But, take some time that's just for you. Don't ever give up on your academics, even if you suffer an injury (as I did). Be proud to be a Comet. It's the best four years of your life.
Q9: Family? Spouse's name, and children's name(s) and age(s)? Did any of your children attend Olivet?
A9: I am married to my high school sweetheart, David Pedder. We have a daughter, Eleanor, who is 2.5-years-old and a baby on the way (due February 2021).
