#KnowYourOCAthleticsStaff: Rob Brownell

With only a few athletic teams competing this fall, we knew the Olivet College fans are going to miss sports just as much as our student-athletes, coaches and athletic staff. We are hoping to fill that void by having some special content on our website throughout the semester. On Mondays, you will get to #KnowYourOCAthleticsStaff through some questions and answers with our head coaches and athletic administration.

Answer 1: Rob Brownell

Q2: What is your current job title?
A2: Head Men's and Women's Swim & Dive Coach/Aquatics Director

Q3: How long have you been at Olivet?
A3: Going into my fourth season

Q4: What made you decide to come to Olivet?
A4: The family atmosphere. From the first time I stepped on campus, I felt that Olivet had a sincere care for everyone of its students, staff and faculty. OC's personal relationships are what set it apart from other schools.

Q5: What is the number one reason you tell a prospective student-athlete on why he/she should attend Olivet?
A5: Olivet will look out for you, they will make you better if you put in the work.

Q6: Where did you attend college?
A6: San Diego State University

Q7: Did you play any sports in college?
A7: Rowing

Q8: What is an interesting fact about yourself that nobody knows?
A8: I have jumped out of an airplane 10 times.

Q9: Family? Spouse's name, and children's name(s)?
A9: I have a wonderful family! My wife, Beth, is a teacher in Marshall where I live, and both of my kids go to school. Miriam, my daughter, is a sophomore at Marshall High School where she is a swimmer and also participates in theater in both Marshall and Battle Creek. Thane, my son, is a seventh-grader at Marshall Middle. He plays hockey for the Battle Creek Bruins and is part of the Jr. PGA Golf team at Binder Park.
