Dean Trailways Comets of the Week - January 22, 2024
The Dean Trailways Female Comet of the Week is senior Jennifer Mann, of Orange, California, and graduate of Villa Park High School. Mann won the 400-yard individual medley (4:44.97) and 200-yard butterfly (2:16.96) at the women’s swimming and diving team’s double dual meet at Calvin University. It was the first time in her collegiate career that she swam the 200-yard butterfly.
The Dean Trailways Co-Male Comet of the Week is senior Jordon Brown, of Niles, and graduate of Niles High School. Brown took first place in three individual events and ran a leg of the winning 4x400-meter relay at the season-opening Central Michigan / Jack Skoog Open. He won the 60-meter dash in a school-record time of 6.90 seconds, as well as the 200-meter dash (22.22) and long jump (22 feet, 3-3/4 inches). The 60 time and converted 200 time (21.83) rank No. 18 on the NCAA Division III Performance List.
The Dean Trailways Co-Male Comet of the Week is senior Quinn Dickerson, of Lisle, Illinois, and graduate of Lisle High School. Dickerson averaged 3.71 kills per set in four matches for the men’s volleyball team in its first weekend of action for the 2024 season. He had 11 kills against Marian (Wis.), 22 against North Park (Ill.), 11 against Lakeland (Wis.) and eight against Illinois Wesleyan. The 22 kills against North Park are the fourth-most in school history for a match. Over the four matches, Dickerson posted a .452 attack percentage (52 kills, with 14 errors on 84 attempts). He also had nine assisted blocks.
