Bio

During the years 1971 to 1975 you invaded the M.I.A.A. campuses and left behind you an unequalled record in the history of this college’s association with that athletic conference. Serving as play-maker, scorer, and hockey team captain, you helped Olivet win its best known Field Hockey championship and were voted Most Valuable Player in both Field Hockey and Basketball. You were part of the Field Hockey Nationals in 1972 and 1973, and you achieved recognition as a member of the All-Conference Michigan Field Hockey Team for all four years of your collegiate career. Your athletic skill extended to include tennis and volleyball. You were a letter winner in the four sports (basketball, field hockey, tennis and volleyball) in which you participated.

Now you continue to serve your community as teacher and friend to many. Your master’s degree in Secondary Education from Northern Kentucky University makes you well qualified to guide the lives of young women athletes.

By initiating the Suzanne Eick Wera annual award to the Outstanding Woman Basketball player you have indicated your continued interest in the athletic program at your college. We honor you as an outstanding athlete and alumna by inducting you into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame on this 15th day of October, 1983.
