Bio
You were a truly exceptional student athlete. Lettering in any
given sport is a great accomplishment. Lettering in two sports for
all four years of a college career is almost unheard of. You
brought great talent to both the Olivet College baseball team and
the Olivet College basketball team from 1956-1959. You were a
valuable team leader as well.
As a student you were a highly visible campus leader. You were an
active member of the Phi Alpha Pi Fraternity and the Olivet College
Student Council. Your popularity as a student resulted in your
election as Homecoming King in your senior year.
After graduation from Olivet your service to your Alma Matter has
been exemplary. You have served as the Olivet College Director of
Admissions, Director of Alumni and Church Relations. Your efforts
as a co-founder of the Big Red Sports Boosters Club have brought
many benefits to Olivet’s athletic programs.
Your service to your community has also been outstanding. You have
served as a president of the Olivet Rotary, the Olivet Chamber of
Commerce and as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Charlotte
Congregational Church, U.C.C. Today, the leadership skills you
learned as a student athlete at Olivet College are benefiting your
position as Vice President for Operations at Airway
Manufacturing.
Because of your outstanding abilities as an athlete and as a
student, it is great pride that this 1st day of November 1997, we
induct you into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame.
