Bio

You starred and lettered in wrestling at Olivet College for four years and finished an outstanding career with a record of 62 wins and 29 losses. As a senior, you were a co-captain and won the 142-pound title at the MIAA championships. You also finished third at the MIAA championships in ’74, ’75 and ’76. Your team compiled a 77-3 record in your four years at Olivet. You also earned a varsity letter in tennis.

Since leaving Olivet, you have been engaged in flying on and off United States Navy aircraft carriers. Upon graduation, you were commissioned via Aviation Officers Candidate School in September, 1977 and designated a Naval Flight Officer in July, 1978. You have served in a variety of positions including Chief of Staff for Task Force 50, the Arabian Gulf Carrier Battle Force during Operation Iraqi Freedom; Deputy Director of Operations for the Atlantic Fleet; Commanding Officer of Attack Squadron One Seventy Five and have directed intermediate and advanced Carrier Battle Strikes for 12 Carrier Strike Groups.

Your superior ability and discipline on the wrestling mats prepared you for a successful career as a captain with the U.S. Navy. Olivet honors you as a winner and is proud to induct you into the Olivet College Hall of Fame on this 5th day of September, 2003.
