immediately success was yours as you were part of the 440 relay
team which set a record for Olivet with a time of 42.9 seconds. In
your senior year you set a record in the 880 run. You received the
Walter Sprandel Athletic Scholastic Achievement Award, the highest
athletic award of Olivet College. You maintained a 3.4 grade point
average and were selected for the All-MIAA track squad in 1970.
Your leadership ability led you to be track and cross country team
captain for two years each.
You were a member of the Sigma Zeta, an Honorary Science Society,
a member of the student MIAA governing board, the Adelphic Alpha Pi
Fraternity and selected to be in the Who’s Who Among Students
in American Universities and Colleges.
David, you were an outstanding person on campus, viewed positively
by your peers, and a campus leader. Since your graduation from
Olivet, you have received a Master of Education degree and have
coached both men and women athletes.
Your enthusiasm, loyalty and athletic ability leads you to be
recognized and formally inducted into the Olivet College Athletic
Hall of Fame on this 12th day of January 1991.
