Bio

In the years 1966-70, she was deeply involved in the development of outstanding field hockey and volleyball teams at Olivet. Her teammates selected her Most Outstanding Player in field hockey in 1968. In 1969, she won intercollegiate recognition for her skills when she was named to the Michigan College First Team. She was the first Comet to be so honored. During her hockey career at Olivet she set records for most goals scored in a season and most goals scored in a game.

In addition to field hockey, she was also an outstanding competitor in tennis, volleyball, and basketball. She played tennis for three years and volleyball and basketball for four years. She served as captain for both the basketball and volleyball squads and led the basketball team in scoring in 1969.

During her years at Olivet she served as a leader and a source of encouragement to her teammates and classmates.

In recognition of her achievements, Olivet is proud to bestow one more richly deserved honors on Cathie Rickert by inducting her as the first female member of the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame.
