Kathy “Heide” Murphy - a player for all seasons.

Many have played well at a single sport, but you excelled at no less than four sports at Olivet. In field hockey, you played at right half serving as captain in your senior year. You made the all-Michigan college team four successive years and were named to the first team in both your junior and senior years. Your leadership and spirit for team play also prevailed as you captained the volleyball, basketball, and tennis teams. To each of these sports you gave your best and left Olivet with a record to be admired.

Remarkably, your interests extended beyond the gym and playing field. You joined with many of your teammates as an active member of Alpha Lambda Epsilon, and aided underclassmen as a student advisor. The women’s intramural program also reached a new high under your leadership during your junior and senior years.

It is, therefore, fitting and proper that Olivet College in response to high praise from coaches, players, and Olivetians, induct you into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame.
