Bio

You earned four varsity letters as a member of the football team. You were a second-team All-MIAA selection at defensive end as a sophomore in 1980. You suffered a season-ending injury in the first game of your junior season. As a senior in 1982, you were selected to be a team captain and earned second-team All-MIAA accolades for a second time. In addition, you were a three-year letterwinner on the baseball team and member of the 1981 MIAA championship team. In 1983, you received the Walter B. Sprandel award.

You were also involved in other activities during your time at Olivet. You served as president of your fraternity, Phi Alpha Pi, and were a DJ for WOCR. As a junior, you were named the Homecoming King.

You graduated from Olivet with a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and triple minor in speech, communications and theater. Upon graduating from Olivet, you taught and coached at McAdams High School in Dickinson, Texas, for one year. You then became an international model for nine years working with Versace, Valentino, Giorgio Armani, Polo and Calvin Klein and lived all over the world. After returning to the United States, you taught theater and teen leadership, and coached varsity football and baseball at Deer Park High School in Houston, Texas.

After being in education for eight years, you took your talents to the Flippen Group where you have served as the senior leadership executive for the last 19 years. In that position, you and the company build relationships and processes which bring out the best in people through  a program called Capturing Kids’ Hearts and Leadership Blueprint. Through these processes, the team you are a part of has influenced millions of children across the nation.

You are proud of your daughter, Alexandria, who attends University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, Texas. You live your life with passion living these two mottos, “Carpe diem. Seize the Day!” and “Finish Strong!” You would like to thank Olivet College, your coaches, family and friends, and God Bless.

Olivet honors you and is proud to induct you into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame this 28th day of September, 2018.
