Bio

You earned four varsity letters as a pitcher on the baseball team. As a freshman in 1993, you had a 5-4 record and 5.16 ERA. As a sophomore in 1994, you earned first-team All-MIAA honors while posting an 8-4 record, striking out 67 batters and lowering your ERA to 2.92.

As a junior in 1995, you were a first-team All-MIAA selection for a second consecutive season after having a 7-3 record, 62 strikeouts and 3.22 ERA in 71.2 innings pitched. As a senior in 1996, you had a 10-4 record, 97 strikeouts and 2.98 ERA in 102.2 innings to earn second-team All-MIAA and American Baseball Coaches Association All-Region honors.

You still hold Olivet’s single-season and career records for pitching wins, innings pitched and strikeouts. At the time of your graduation, you held the single-season and career records for complete games. Your career statistics are 29-15 record, 4.12 ERA, 13 complete games, 305.2 innings pitched and 260 strikeouts. You received the Walter B. Sprandel Award in 1996. At Olivet, you were also a member of the Adelphic Alpha Pi fraternity.

You graduated from Olivet with a bachelor’s degree in education and returned to Olivet to earn a master’s degree in teaching in 2008. After leaving Olivet, you taught science at Jackson Northwest Middle School for seven years. Since 2004, you have served as a physical education teacher at Jackson Northwest High School. 

Olivet honors you and is proud to induct you into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame this 28th day of September, 2018.
