Bio
You starred and lettered in basketball and baseball at Olivet
College for four years. In basketball, you were a three-time
all-MIAA selection. As a junior, you were voted team MVP and ranked
third in the country in free throw percentage (93.8%). Following
your senior year, you were named team Co-MVP. In baseball, you led
the team in runs scored and stolen bases in 1964 and 1965. You were
also a member of the 1965 conference championship team.
After graduating from Olivet, you began your teaching and coaching
career at the Brandon School District in Ortonville, Mich. You
spent 28 years in the same district until retiring July 1,
1993. While there, you coached the football, basketball and
baseball teams, leading seven teams to a league championship. In
addition to your coaching duties, you served as a physical
education teacher for 12 years, athletic director for eight years,
high school assistant principal for eight years and high school
principal for eight years.
Your superior ability on the basketball court and baseball field
prepared you for a successful career as an outstanding educator.
Olivet honors you and is proud to induct you into the Olivet
College Athletic Hall of Fame on this 17th day of September,
2004.
