Bio

On only a few, very rare, occasions a person who has demonstrated an exceptional lvel of service to the athletes of Olivet College is honored by induction into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame. You are one of those few individuals. For over 35 years you have enriched Olivet College through service to our student-athletes. Beginning in 1964 you took on the laborious and un-sung task of filming the football games. Using a 16-mm camera you spent hour after hour in the cold and the wet, meticulously catching each play as it happened. You filmed Olivet College football for 19 seasons, basketball for 8 seasons. You have provided video and still pictures for the golf team for 7 seasons. In addition you have provided still photography of all team sports for over 10 years.

While driving to games, sitting on the sidelines and during quiet moments before and after competition you have been a friend and an ear to many athletes and most of the coaching staff. Your support and friendship during both the good times and the bad has made you a trusted resource that words can't begin to describe.

Collins Clothing was a retail shop frequented by many students over the years. You became so well know and thought of you were made an honorary member of almost every fraternity and sorority on campus. You were also dedicated to your wife Beth and your two children John and Leane.

Because of your many years of tireless service to our athleteic program it is with great pride that this 16th day of September 2000 we induct you into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame.
