Bio
You came to Olivet College from Lake Michigan Community College
where you were determined to receive a degree in music and minor in
physical education.
Athletically, you excelled in field hockey and softball. Your
talent led you to the All-State Softball Team, where you pitched a
perfect game against Alma College in 1983. You received All-League
MIAA Team honors in softball, and were Honorable Mention in field
hockey. In 1982 you participated in the State Championship Softball
game. Due to your warm personality and strong leadership skills you
were chosen captain of the softball team. You established the MIAA
record in 1983 for the fewest hits allowed by a pitcher in the
season (2 walks in 31 innings). This remains a MIAA record to this
day. You also hold the MIAA record, to date, for the walks allowed
per inning (8 walks in 97 innings pitched). Your total career in
league games is 11 victories, 3 losses. You batted .300 in your
MIAA career.
In 1988 you returned to Olivet College to receive the All-MIAA
Athlete Award, as Olivet College celebrated its 100th year
anniversary in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic
Association.
You continue to excel as Director of Bands at Constantine Public
Schools along with coaching junior high track and junior varsity
softball.
It is with honor on this 10th day of September 1993, we formally
induct you into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame.
Congratulations!
