Bio

As a student athlete you participated in football, baseball, and basketball. You lettered in football all four years at Olivet and you lettered in baseball in your junior and senior years. You were a valuable member of the 1974 M.I.A.A. Championship football team. That year you were named to the All-M.I.A.A. 1st Team in football and you were Honorable Mention in 1975. You held an Olivet College Football record for single game receiving (9) against Kalamazoo College in 1975.

As a student you were very active elsewhere on campus. You were a member of the Kappa Sigma Alpha Fraternity. You held leadership positions within the fraternity as well, serving as Pledge Captain and House Chairman.

Since graduating from Olivet you have distinguished yourself in the fields of education and coaching. In addition to your responsibilities as a Social Studies Teacher at Constantine Public Schools you are a highly respected men’s track coach and football coach. As track coach you hold a dual meet record of 111-20 with 10 S.J.V. League Championships, 7 Regional Championships, and State Runner-up in 1989. That year you were named the Michigan High School Class C Track Coach of the Year. In football you hold a record of 54-16 with 3 League Championships, 1 Regional Championship, and State Finalist in 1994. That year you were named the Class C Football Coach of the Year. In 1987 you served as the Director of Field Events for the International Special Olympics at the University of Notre Dame.

Because of your outstanding abilities as a student athlete and as a coach, it is with great pride that on this 1st day of November, 1997, we induct you into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame.
