Bio
Coming as you did, from a fine high school at Pennfield, you found
Olivet College athletics to your liking. While you contributed much
with your participation in both basketball and baseball, it was in
the high jump that you excelled. For four years you dominated this
field event. In 1975 you set a new college record with a jump of
6’8". You joined the honorary American track and field team
in 1975 and again in 1976 and All-American honors were awarded in
1975.
Following your track and field record making, you studied at
Western Michigan University, and obtained your master’s
degree in Physical Education. Armed with both a desire to teach,
and a certificate for elementary classrooms, you taught to young
people the 3 Rs and the joy of victory. Schools in Pennfield, St.
Joseph, Eau Claire, and Sodus, have seen your skill in the
classroom and have cheered with you as you served also as coach and
counselor.
Like many who have cheered before – we cheer as you are
inducted into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame on the 20th
day of October, 1990. Congratulations!
