Bio

Coached by Gary Morrison, the 1971-72 Olivet College men’s basketball team captured the MIAA title with a perfect 12-0 record against league opponents. The Comets had a 22-1 overall record, with their only loss being a 107-96 setback in the season-opener against Lake Superior State University

Mike Maciasz was selected as the MIAA’s Most Valuable Player and Rick Clack joined him on the All-MIAA first-team.

The remaining members of the team were Gene Czubenko, Gene Gifford, Ralph Kunert, John Martin, Paul Miller, Earl Moore, John Nametz, Bill Newhouse, Dennis O’Mara, Jeff Paradise and Larry Walker.

Olivet honors this team and is proud to induct it into the Olivet College Athletic Hall of Fame this 7th day of October, 2016.
