OLIVET, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's tennis team began the 2023-24 season with a 7-2 loss today to Concordia University-Ann Arbor. The match was the first at the new Kolassa Tennis Complex on Olivet's campus.
- Final Score: Concordia-Ann Arbor 7, Olivet 2
- Location: Kolassa Tennis Complex; Olivet, Michigan
- Records: Olivet 0-1 overall, Concordia-Ann Arbor 1-0 overall
- The Cardinals won two of the three doubles pro-sets, and five of the six singles flights.
- The No. 1 doubles team of freshman Lucas Anderson and senior Trevor Lewis won a thrilling match, 8-7, via a 7-4 win in the tiebreaker.
- Anderson picked-up Olivet's point in singles with a 6-3, 6-3 decision at the No. 2 position.
- Freshman Josh Moore lost a close match at No. 4 singles. He won the first set before losing the second set and the match tiebreaker, 10-8.
- The Comets will travel to play Illinois College next Sunday, September 17. The match will be held at Minooka High School in Minooka, Illinois, and starts at 3 p.m. ET.
