Olivet kicks-off 2024 season at Comet Open

CHARLOTTE, Mich. – The University of Olivet men's and women's cross country teams kicked-off the 2024 season by hosting the Comet Open at the Broadway Acres Golf Course. Due to weather and course conditions, both genders ran the unscored race at the same time, as well as the course was shortened to around 2.9 miles.

The unscored meet featured four fellow Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association schools – Adrian College, Albion College, Hope College and Saint Mary's (Ind.) College as well as Cleary University.

• Sophomore Deegan Bodell was the first Comet to finish, as he was 22nd of 65 runners with a time of 15:50.9.
• Junior Anthony DeVito was next at 16:08.5.
• Freshman Luke Senters had a solid collegiate debut, with a time of 16:23.4.

• Junior Sarah Grove finished 21st of 59 runners, with a time of 19:12.4.
• Sophomore Aubrey Connelly posted a time of 20:19.9.
• Freshman Casidhe Flesher recorded a time of 21:06.8.

• The Comets run at the Northwood University Invitational next Saturday, September 7. The race is at the Fisher Family Trails in Midland.a
