Women’s cross country team finishes in ninth-place at MIAA Championships
The Olivet College women’s cross country team finished in ninth-place at the 2015 MIAA Championships. In the overall league standings, the Comets tied for eighth-place. Highlighting the meet was Allyson Schultz who earned second-team All-MIAA honors.
CHARLOTTE, Mich. – The Olivet College women's cross country team finished in ninth-place at the 2015 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championships, held today at the Broadway Acres Golf Course in Charlotte. In the overall league standings, the Comets tied for eighth-place. Highlighting the meet was junior Allyson Schultz who earned second-team All-MIAA honors.
In today's race, the Olivet women totaled 219 points. Hope claimed the MIAA championship with 42 points, followed by Calvin, 47; Alma, 121; Saint Mary's (Ind.), 122; Trine, 128; Albion, 136; Kalamazoo, 193; and Adrian, 219.
Schultz was the 17th women's runner to cross the finish line at 23:27.7. Freshman Nicole Sebok was next at 25:38.7 and senior Danielle Marsh was right behind her at 25:39.3. Freshman Zoe Feighner finished in 26:22.4, followed by sophomore Kaitlin Stults at 27:10.7.
The Comets will compete Nov. 21 at the 2015 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Meet, hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (Ind.).
