Women’s cross country team places seventh at MIAA Jamboree
The Olivet College women’s cross country team placed seventh at the 2015 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree, held at the West Ottawa Golf Club in Holland.
HOLLAND, Mich. – The Olivet College women's cross country team placed seventh at the 2015 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree, held at the West Ottawa Golf Club in Holland.
The women had 205 points to place in front of Kalamazoo, 214; and Adrian, 231. Hope was the team champion with 26 points, followed by Calvin, 49; Trine, 108; Albion, 132; Saint Mary's (Ind.) College, 136; and Alma, 151.
Junior Allyson Schultz finished in 21st-place, as she covered the 6K course in 23:53.2. Senior Danielle Marsh completed the race in 25:16.7 to finish in 41st-place. Freshman Nicole Sebok was next at 25:21.0, followed by freshman Jessica Taylor, 26:27.4; and freshman Abigail Gaines, 26:32.9.
"We raced well today as a team," said Olivet head coach Karen Lutzke. "We are able to move up throughout the race. The conditions were great for racing so took advantage of the course and weather to set a lot of personal-best times. We saw huge improvements from our last race and expect more improvements throughout the season."
The Comets next competes Friday, Oct. 9, at the Lansing Community College Invitational. The meet is being run at Grand Woods Park.
