Olivet swept by Hope

HOLLAND, Mich. – The University of Olivet women's volleyball team was swept by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) leader and nationally-ranked Hope College tonight inside DeVos Fieldhouse. The Flying Dutch are ranked No. 2 in the most recent American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25 poll.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first set, the Flying Dutch built a 5-1 lead and never looked back.
- Hope had a wire-to-wire lead in the second set.
- Early in the third set, the Comets led by four points, 8-4. Hope answered with a 6-0 run to take a 10-8. Olivet chipped away at its deficit to level the score on three occasions (10-10, 12-12 and 14-14). The Flying Dutch scored 11 of the final 17 points of the set.
FOR THE COMETS
- Senior Abi Nunez topped Olivet with nine kills.
- Senior Hayleah McFadden had seven kills.
- Junior Morgan Good recorded five kills and a team-best .286 attack percentage.
- Senior Teagan Giannunzio and freshman Jordyn Smith split time at setter and finished with 10 and nine assists, respectively.
- Junior Jaydn Cary led all players with 15 digs.

- Olivet is off until Saturday, November 2, when it travels to play Trine (Ind.) University. The first serve is at 1 p.m. from Hershey Hall in Angola, Indiana.
