SANDUSKY, Ohio – The University of Olivet women's volleyball team won two matches today at the 2023 Great Lakes Crossover, hosted by Heidelberg (Ohio) University and played at Sports Force Park. In their first match, the Comets swept Mount Aloysius (Pa.) College 25-13, 25-18, 25-21. Olivet then defeated University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg (Pa.) 25-11, 25-15, 25-21.
- Final Score: Olivet defeated Mount Aloysius 25-13, 25-18, 25-21

- Records: Olivet 3-0 overall, Mount Aloysius 0-3 overall
- In the first set, the Comets jumped out to an 11-1 lead. Olivet did not give up the lead for the rest of the set.
- The Comets led 7-4 in the second set. The Mounties scored the next two points, but they would not get any closer for the remainder of the set.
- Mount Aloysius built a 6-3 lead early in the third set. Olivet answered with five straight points – four kills and an ace – to go up 8-6. The Mounties fought back and eventually went ahead 15-14. The Comets countered with three kills for a 17-15 lead. Mount Aloysius responded with a 4-2 spurt to even the score at 19-19. Three points put Olivet ahead for good.
- For the match, Olivet recorded 44 kills and .320 attack percentage.
- Senior Olivia DuFore topped the Comets with 14 kills.
- Senior Morgan Dillon as well as juniors Hayleah McFadden and Abi Nunez each slammed down nine kills.
- McFadden did not have an error on 13 attempts for a .692 attack percentage.
- Junior Teagan Giannunzio led all players with 42 set assists and 14 digs.
- Sophomore Jaydn Cary also reached double digits in digs with 11.

- The Comets jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first set and never looked back. The 14-point margin of victory was their largest lead of the set.
- Pitt-Greensburg led by a point twice in the second set. After the last time at 3-2, Olivet scored the next two points and did not relinquish its advantage for the rest of the set.
- The Comets led the third set from start-to-finish.
- Olivet recorded 33 kills.
- Dillon had a game-best 10 kills.
- Sophomore Violet Porter tallied six kills.
- Giannunzio and junior Madison Johnson split time at setter, collecting 11 and nine set assists, respectively.
- Cary finished with a match-high 20 digs. Senior Emily Keeler and junior Maddie Reynolds registered 15 digs apiece.
- The Comets travel to play Manchester (Ind.) University next Wednesday, September 6. First serve is at 6:30 p.m.
