Women’s volleyball team wraps-up season with three-set loss at Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College women's volleyball team pulled the curtain closed on the 2022 season with a three-set loss to Trine (Ind.) University today at Hershey Hall.
- Final Score: Trine defeated Olivet 25-15, 26-24, 25-23

- Records: Olivet 4-21 overall, 1-7 MIAA; Trine 12-10 overall, 4-4 MIAA
- After Olivet took a 2-0 lead on a service by junior Emily Keeler and a kill by senior Ellie Louiselle, The Thunder went on a 5-0 run. The Comets fought back to tie the score at 11-11. Trine scored the next two points and never looked back to win the first set by a 25-15 score.
- Olivet seized a 5-1 lead in the second set. The Comets pushed their lead to six points on two occasions. After the last time at 16-10, Trine used a 7-2 run to close the gap to a single point. Olivet put three of the next four points on the scoreboard to go up three points, 21-18. The Thunder responded with three straight points and force the Comets to call a timeout. After the timeout, Olivet scored the next point, but another 3-0 Trine run made the score 24-22. A Louiselle kill and Thunder attack error evened the score at 24-24. Trine won the set with a kill and a block on a Comet attack.
- The third set saw Olivet take a 7-5 lead. The Thunder answered with six consecutive points for a 11-7 lead. The Comets answered with a 5-1 run to even the score at 12-12. The teams traded 2-0 spurts to create a 14-14 score. Olivet used a 4-2 for a two-point advantage, 18-16. Trine came back to tie the score at 18-18 and 19-19. A 3-0 Comet run put them ahead 22-19. After calling a timeout, the Thunder ended the set on a 6-1 run to win it 25-23.
- Louiselle and junior Morgan Dillon each had seven kills.
- Senior Kennedy Blackburn recorded 22 set assists.
- Senior Jill Arends topped the defense with a match-high 15 digs.
- Keeler ended the season with 39 service aces, which ranks fifth in school history.
- Blackburn wraps-up her career with 976 set assists to rank sixth all-time at Olivet.
- Catherine Dobies finished with a match-high 15 kills and .519 attack percentage.
- Joslynn Battle and Kailee Cornell finished with 20 and 14 set assists, respectively.
- Kacie Van Kalker contributed 12 digs.
