Women’s volleyball team swept by Hope
HOLLAND, Mich. – The Olivet College women’s volleyball team lost in three sets to Hope College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) match tonight at DeVos Fieldhouse.

HOLLAND, Mich. – The Olivet College women's volleyball team lost in three sets to Hope College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) match tonight at DeVos Fieldhouse.
- Final Score: Hope defeated Olivet 25-12, 25-20, 25-8

- Records: Olivet 4-20 overall, 1-6 MIAA; Hope 18-5 overall, 6-1 MIAA
- In the first set, the Comets held a 4-3 lead. The Flying Dutch scored 11 of the next 12 points to go up 14-5. Hope did not give up the lead for the rest of the set, winning it by a 25-12 score.
- The Flying Dutch built a four-point lead, 6-2, in the second set. Olivet answered with five straight points – three Hope attack errors and two aces by junior Olivia DuFore – made the score 7-6. The teams traded points to create four tied scores at 7-7, 8-8, 9-9 and 10-10. The Flying Dutch came back to lead by seven points, 19-12. The Comets responded with 7-2 run to cut their deficit to two points, 21-19. Hope ended the set on a 4-1 run to win 25-20.
- The Flying Dutch led the third set from start-to-finish.
- Freshman Violet Porter recorded six of the 16 Olivet kills. She had one error on 13 attempts for a .385 attack percentage.
- Senior Ellie Louiselle was next with four kills.
- Senior Kennedy Blackburn dished out 13 set assists.
- Junior libero Emily Keeler topped the defense with 13 digs.
- Annie Lockett tallied 13 of the 43 Hope kills.
- Jenna Core registered eight kills.
- Lauren Lee had a match-best 40 set assists.
- Grace Marshall led the defense with 16 digs.
- The Comets are on the road Saturday to play Trine (Ind.) University at 1 p.m. The match is the season-finale for Olivet.
