Women’s volleyball team defeated by Alma at Mount Mary Autumn Classic
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Olivet College women’s volleyball team fell to Alma College in four sets today at the Mount Mary College Autumn Classic in Milwaukee.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Olivet College women's volleyball team fell to Alma College in four sets today at the Mount Mary College Autumn Classic in Milwaukee.
- Final Score: Alma defeated Olivet 25-23, 25-15, 23-25, 25-23
- Location: Bloechl Center; Milwaukee, Wisconsin
- Records: Olivet 4-19 overall, Alma 6-17 overall
- In the first set, Alma led by four points, 12-8. Olivet answered with a 6-1 run to take a 14-13 lead. From there, neither team led by more than two points for the remainder of the set. The Comets held a 23-22 lead until the Scots scored the final three points to win the set 25-22.
- The start of the second set was like the end of the first set. Alma took the largest lead for either team when it led 12-9. The Scots kept the lead for the remainder of the set.
- The third set featured large scoring runs for both schools. Olivet used a 6-0 spurt to turn a 4-1 deficit into a 7-4 lead. Alma came back with an 8-2 run to go ahead 12-9. The Comets answered with a 6-1 run to take the lead back 15-13. A 6-2 Scot run made the score 19-17. A 4-1 Olivet run created a 21-20 score. After Alma scored three points, the Comets ended the set on a 4-1 run to win it 25-23.
- Olivet built an 11-point lead, 16-5, at the start of the fourth set. The Scots mounted a comeback and eventually took a 22-21 lead. A service error followed by a kill made put the Comets ahead 23-22. Alma scored the final three points on an Olivet attack error and two kills.
- Junior Olivia DuFore finished with a match-high 18 kills.
- Freshman Violet Porter tallied nine kills, followed by sophomore Alia Riehl with eight.
- Sophomore Madison Johnson had 38 set assists.
- Junior Emily Keeler recorded a match-best 23 digs.
- Senior libero Jill Arends was next with 17 digs.
- Brooke Leroux led Alma with 13 kills and .423 attack percentage.
- Callie Smith had seven kills and 14 digs.
- Ashley Miller and Megan Greenup registered 18 and 16 digs, respectively.
- Kolbey Boyd and Lexi Dykstra each collected 17 digs.
- The Comets end their season next week, with two road Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association matches. On Wednesday, Olivet plays Hope College at 6:30 p.m., and on Saturday, the Comets face Trine (Ind.) University at 1 p.m.
