Women’s volleyball team downed by Adrian in straight sets
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women’s volleyball team came up short against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Adrian College in three sets tonight at the Cutler Event Center.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's volleyball team came up short against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Adrian College in three sets tonight at the Cutler Event Center.
- Final Score: Adrian defeated Olivet 25-18, 25-16, 25-19

- Records: Olivet 3-13 overall, 1-1 MIAA; Adrian 10-5 overall, 3-0 MIAA
- In the first set, the Bulldogs built a 5-1 lead before the Comets went on a 4-0 run to level the score. After trading points, Adrian went ahead 8-6 and eventually pushed its lead to six points, 16-10. Olivet battled back to trim its deficit to two points, 16-14, but would not get any closer for the rest of the set.
- The second set was the opposite of the first, as the Comets gained the early 5-1 lead. The Bulldogs responded with eight straight points to go up 9-5. Olivet chipped away at its deficit and made it a one-point game twice. Following the last time at 12-11, Adrian used a 6-0 spurt to take control of the set.
- Early in the third set, neither team led by more than two points. After spotting Olivet a point to make the score 7-6, the Bulldogs went on an 8-0 run to make the score 15-6. The Comets did not give up and was able to close the gap to four points, 22-18. Adrian ended the set on a 3-1 run.
- Freshman Violet Porter led Olivet with nine kills and a .375 attack percentage.
- Senior Ellie Louiselle and junior Olivia DuFore each had six kills.
- Junior Morgan Dillon finished with five kills.
- Senior Kennedy Blackburn recorded 22 set assists.
- Junior Emily Keeler registered 13 digs.
- Senior Jill Arends served six of the nine Comet aces.
- Megan Feldmann tallied 13 kills and hit at a .250 clip.
- Amber Morris was next with 12 kills and .214 hitting percentage.
- Hailey Farrell collected 36 set assists.
- Mya Minjares and Lana Cox had 24 and 20 digs, respectively.
- Maddy Peters notched six service aces.
- The Comets are off until next Tuesday, October 4, when they host Albion College. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
