Women’s volleyball team drops four-set match to Kenyon at MIAA-NCAC Challenge
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women’s volleyball team suffered a four-set loss to Kenyon (Ohio) College in its second match of the 2022 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA)-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Challenge today at the Cutler Event Center.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's volleyball team suffered a four-set loss to Kenyon (Ohio) College in its second match of the 2022 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA)-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Challenge today at the Cutler Event Center.
- Final Score: Kenyon defeated Olivet 21-25, 25-20, 25-13, 25-23

- Records: Olivet 2-4 overall, Kenyon 1-5 overall
- The first set was back-and-forth until the Owls gained a three-point lead, 11-8. Olivet used a 4-0 run to go up 12-11. The teams traded points to keep the score close. Kenyon led 20-19 until the Comets had another 5-0 spurt, including three straight aces by sophomore Kayin Harper, to take a 24-20 lead. The Owls saved one set point before a service error ended the set in Olivet's favor.
- In the second set, Keyon built a seven-point cushion, 18-11. A 6-0 Comet run made the score 18-17. The Owls put seven of the final 10 points of the set on the scoreboard to win, 25-20.
- Kenyon and Olivet exchanged the first six points of the third set, resulting in a 3-3 tie. Four consecutive points for the Owls put them ahead and they did not relinquish the lead for the rest of the set.
- In the fourth set, Olivet went ahead 7-4 before Kenyon battled back for a 12-10 lead. The Comets scored five of the next six points to take the lead back, 15-13. The Owls answered with a 5-0 run to take an 18-15 lead. A 2-0 run for each school kept the margin at three points, 20-17. Another Kenyon point made the score 21-17 before Olivet responded with a 5-0 spurt to go up 22-21. Two kills for the Owls handed the lead back to them, 23-22. A Comet kill leveled the score at 23-23. A Kenyon kill and Olivet attack error concluded the set and match.
- Junior Morgan Dillon had 10 kills.
- Senior Ellie Louiselle and freshman Hannah Pratt each recorded nine kills.
- Splitting time at setter, senior Kennedy Blackburn and sophomore Madison Johnson tallied 22 and 20 assists, respectively.
- Senior Jill Arends led all players with 28 digs.
- Macy Reimbold finished with a match-best 17 kills.
- Jac Cousineau had 39 set assists.
- Elizabeth Sonza and Ellie Luciani registered 20 and 18 digs, respectively.
- The Comets travel to play Defiance (Ohio) College next Wednesday, September 14. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
