Women’s volleyball team loses at Anderson
ANDERSON, Ind. – The Olivet College women’s volleyball team fell to Anderson (Ind.) University in a four-set match this evening at the O.C. Lewis Gymnasium in Anderson, Indiana. The Ravens won the first two sets 25-22 and 25-10. The Comets won a close third set, 25-23, before Anderson earned a 25-9 win in the fourth set.

ANDERSON, Ind. – The Olivet College women's volleyball team fell to Anderson (Ind.) University in a four-set match this evening at the O.C. Lewis Gymnasium in Anderson, Indiana. The Ravens won the first two sets 25-22 and 25-10. The Comets won a close third set, 25-23, before Anderson earned a 25-9 win in the fourth set.

- The Ravens opened the match by scoring the first two points. The Comets answered with five straight points, including back-to-back aces by senior libero Jill Arends. Olivet maintained held the lead until Anderson used a 3-0 run to turn an 18-17 deficit into a 20-18 lead. The Comets fought back to even the score at 22-22. The Ravens put the final three points on the scoreboard to win the set, 25-22.
- Anderson raced out to a 6-0 lead in the second set and never looked back.
- A service error handed the first point of the third set to the Ravens. Olivet rattled off four straight points – first two on kills by senior Ellie Louiselle, third on an Anderson attack error and fourth on an Arends' ace – to go up 4-1. The Comets extended their lead to three points, 14-11. A 5-0 Anderson spurt made the score 16-14. The Ravens continued to hold the lead and were up three points, 22-19. Four consecutive points put Olivet ahead by one, 23-22. Anderson tied the score before a service error and kill by Louiselle helped the Comets win the set 25-23.
- With the Ravens holding a 4-3 lead, they went on a 7-0 run to increase their lead to eight points. Olivet was never able to recover from the deficit.
- Louiselle slammed down a team-high 10 kills, followed by junior Morgan Dillon with nine.
- From the setter position, senior Kennedy Blackburn dished out 20 assists.
- Arends and junior Emily Keeler recorded double digit digs with 16 and 11, respectively.
- Arends served four aces.
- Tess Perdue had 13 of the 51 Anderson kills.
- Jimena Montano was next with 11 kills.
- Kate Todd and Carmen Soloria split time at setter, tallying 23 and 18 assists, respectively.
- Erin Roach led Anderson with 15 digs.
- Olivet hosts four other schools Friday and Saturday for the 2022 North Coast Athletic Conference and Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Crossover Tournament inside the Cutler Event Center. On Friday night at 7 p.m., the Comets face Oberlin (Ohio) College, and on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m., they play Kenyon (Ohio) College.
