Women’s volleyball team falls to Albion in three sets

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's volleyball team suffered a three-set loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Albion College tonight at the Cutler Event Center.
Final Score: Albion defeated Olivet 25-11, 26-24, 25-19

- The Britons led the first set from start-to-finish.
- The teams traded the first 10 points of the second set, resulting in five tied scores. After a 5-5 deadlock, the Comets scored three straight points to go ahead, 8-5. Olivet maintained its advantage and eventually led by seven points, 23-16, which forced Albion to call a timeout. The Britons responded with five consecutive points (four kills and a service ace).
- The Comets scored the next point on a kill by freshman Olivia DuFore to get to set point at 24-21. Albion scored the final five points of the set to win the set, 26-24.
- In the third set, Olivet built a four-point cushion, 12-8. Albion used five kills and two Comet attack errors to go up 15-12. Olivet was never able to recover from that deficit, as the Britons won the set 25-19.
- Sophomore Ellie Louiselle topped Olivet with seven kills.
- Freshman Morgan Dillon and senior Audrey Lama were next with five kills apiece.
- Freshman Makenna Slack recorded 20 set assists.
- Junior Drue Mullin led all players with 13 digs.
- Chloe Webber finished with a match-best 14 kills, with zero attack errors on 21 attempts, for a .667 attack percentage.
- Kate Winter also reached double digits with 12 kills.
- Mariah Brenz and Grace VanDorn split time at setter, tallying 24 and 12 assists, respectively.
- Olivia Alexander and Kameron Haley each had nine digs.
- Olivet travels to play Trine (Ind.) University Friday night at 7 p.m.
