Women’s volleyball team swept by Calvin in home-opener
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women’s volleyball team was swept in three sets by defending Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) champion Calvin University tonight in its home-opener inside the Cutler Event Center.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's volleyball team was swept in three sets by defending Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) champion Calvin University tonight in its home-opener inside the Cutler Event Center.

- In the first set, the Comets led 3-0 behind a pair of kills by sophomore Ellie Louiselle and one by freshman Olivia DuFore. The Knights answered with five consecutive points, including three service aces. Olivet came back with a 6-2 run to go up 9-7. Four straight Calvin points made the score 11-9. The Knights did not relinquish their lead for the rest of the set.
- In the second set, the Comets had an early 3-2 lead. Calvin scored the next two points and never trailed for the remainder of the set. The Knights had a wire-to-wire lead in the third set.
- Olivet finished the match with 15 kills and posted a .110 attack percentage.
- Louiselle tallied a team-best five kills.
- Freshman Morgan Dillon and junior Jordyn Emelander each had three.
- Dillon did not have an error on eight attempts for a team-leading .375 hitting percentage.
- The Comets used three setters in the match, with freshman Makenna Slack recording a team-best 10 assists.
- Junior Drue Mullin collected a match-high 12 digs.
- Calvin had 42 kills, while hitting at a .367 clip.
- Heidi Westra topped the team with 13 kills.
- Maria Bos was next with nine kills, followed by Gabriella Kellogg with eight.
- Anna Schiemer dished out a match-best 30 set assists.
- Kellogg registered a team-high nine digs.
- Olivet travels to play Alma College next Wednesday, March 24, at 6:30 p.m.
