Volleyball team defeated by Tri-State in five hard-fought games
The Olivet College volleyball team was defeated by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Tri-State (Ind.) University in five hard-fought games tonight at Hershey Hall in Angola.The Thunder won the first (30-19), third (30-21) and fifth (15-11) games, while the Comets took games two (30-27) and four (30-26).

Freshman Ellen Schulz (Freeland) topped the Olivet front row attack with 14 kills, while junior Mackenzie Heator (Union City) also recorded double digits in kills with 10. Heator along with sophomore Jennie Malm (Bridgman) had four blocks a piece. Freshman Jenessa Hicks (Union City) contributed 37 assists. Junior Courtney Lewis (Battle Creek/St. Philip), who was the starting libero, had a team-high 20 digs.
The Comets will take a break from MIAA action when they play at Rochester College Thursday at 7 p.m.
