Volleyball team team falls to Hope in three games
The Olivet College volleyball team fell to Hope College in three games (30-21, 30-14, 30-23) tonight in its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) opener at the Upton Center in Olivet.

Freshman Ellen Schulz (Freeland) led the Comet front row with nine kills and one attack error in 24 attempts for a .333 hitting percentage. Junior Mackenzie Heator (Union City) was next with eight kills. She also had a match-high four blocks. Freshman Jenessa Hicks (Union City) added 23 set assists, while junior Ashley Adams (Brighton/ Hartland) collected a team-high eight digs.
Olivet will be back in action this Friday and Saturday, Sept. 7-8, when it participates in the Hanover (Ind.) College Panther Invitational. The Comets open play Friday evening at 6:45 p.m. against Hanover, followed by a match against Anderson (Ind.) University. On Saturday, they will play Maryville (Tenn.) College at 11 a.m.
