Volleyball team team loses twice at Earlham Classic
The Olivet College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches today at the Earlham (Ind.) Quaker Classic in Richmond, Ind. The Comets fell to the host Quakers in three games (30-27, 30-22, 30-22) and Taylor-Fort Wayne (Ind.) University in four games (30-25, 30-24, 21-30, 30-18).

The Olivet College volleyball team dropped a pair of matches today at the Earlham (Ind.) Quaker Classic in Richmond, Ind. The Comets fell to the host Quakers in three games (30-27, 30-22, 30-22) and Taylor-Fort Wayne (Ind.) University in four games (30-25, 30-24, 21-30, 30-18).
Against Earlham, freshman Ellen Schulz (Freeland) and junior Lindsey Tarrant (Metamore/Oxford) each had 10 kills. Freshman Jenessa Hicks (Union City) collected 26 set assists and 24 digs. Schulz led the defense with 27 digs. Junior Ashley Adams (Brighton/ Hartland) had 22 digs.
Against Taylor, Schulz recorded 12 kills, followed by sophomore Jennie Malm (Bridgman) with 11. Hicks added 33 set assists. Adams finished with 22 digs, and junior Courtney Lewis (Battle Creek/St. Philip) had 13 digs.
Olivet will be back in action Tuesday, Sept. 4, when it hosts Hope College to open Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play. The match will start at 6:30 p.m.
