Volleyball team splits two matches at Siena Heights Triangular

The Olivet College volleyball team split two matches tonight at the Siena Heights University Triangular. In their first match, the Comets fell to the host Saints in four games (30-26, 26-30, 30-21, 30-17). They came back to sweep Rochester College 30-14, 30-25, 30-24.

Against Siena Heights, freshman Ellen Schulz (Freeland) had a team-leading 12 kills. Junior Lindsey Tarrant (Metamore/Oxford) was next with 11 kills. She also recorded a team-high four service aces and 19 digs. Junior Courtney Lewis (Battle Creek/St. Philip) was second with 18 digs. Junior Mackenzie Heator (Union City) finished with four blocks. Freshman Jenessa Hicks (Union City) added 41 assists.

Against Rochester, Tarrant and Heator had 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Lewis collected 20 digs and three service aces. Hicks contributed 32 assists.

Olivet concludes its regular season schedule next Tuesday, Sept. 24, when it hosts Alma College at 6:30 p.m.
