Volleyball team rallies to beat Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College in five games
The Olivet College volleyball team came from behind to beat Saint Mary’s (Ind.) College in five games tonight at the Upton Center in Olivet. After losing the first two games (30-20, 31-29), the Comets rallied to win the next three games, 30-25, 31-29 and 18-16.

Freshman Ellen Schulz (Freeland) led the Olivet front row attack with a match-high 20 kills. Junior Mackenzie Heator (Union City) joined her in double digits with 17 kills and two attack errors on 49 attacks for a .306 hitting percentage. Freshman Jenessa Hicks (Union City) contributed 46 assists. Junior Courtney Lewis (Battle Creek/St. Philip) collected 21 digs, while junior libero Natalee Singleton (Sand Lake/Lakeview) added 18 digs.
Olivet is back in action this Friday and Saturday, Oct. 12-13, when it participates in the Albion College Quad. On Friday, the Comets will play a league match against the host Britons at 4 p.m., and a non-league match against Rochester College at 8 p.m. On Saturday, they will play York (Pa.) College at 10 a.m.
