Volleyball team has 0-2 record at MIAA Triangular
The Olivet College volleyball team had an 0-2 record tonight in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Triangular, which was hosted by Calvin College in Grand Rapids. In their first match, the Comets fell to Tri-State 30-11, 30-23, 30-15. Against the host Knights, Olivet lost the match in four games by scores of 30-26, 30-27, 26-30, 30-23.

Against Tri-State, junior Mackenzie Heator (Union City) led the front row with eight kills. Freshman Jenessa Hicks (Union City) had a team-high 25 assists and 13 digs. Also recording double digit digs was junior Courtney Lewis (Battle Creek/St. Philip), who had 11.
Against Calvin, sophomore Jennie Malm (Bridgman) and freshman Ellen Schulz (Freeland) shared team-high honors with 17 kills a piece. Heator was third with 10 kills. Schulz finished with a match-high 10 blocks. Hicks recorded 45 assists. Junior Lindsey Tarrant (Metamore/Oxford) topped the defense with 19 digs, followed by Lewis with 16.
Olivet is back in action Tuesday, Oct. 9, when it hosts Saint Mary's (Ind.) College at the Upton Center in Olivet at 7 p.m.
