The Olivet College volleyball team beat Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Tri-State (Ind.) University 30-24, 24-30, 30-27, 19-30, 15-11, today at the Upton Center in Olivet.
The Comets' (4-12, 3-4 MIAA) front row was led by freshman Sydney Kuipers (Charlotte), who collected a match-high 25 kills. She had three errors on 46 attacks for a .457 hitting percentage. Freshman Mackenzie Heator (Union City) had 10 kills, followed by freshman Theresa Martin (Charlevoix) and senior Katie Schaum (Marshall) with nine apiece.
Kuipers, Schaum and sophomore Jessica Petkus (Milford) each recorded two service aces. Petkus finished with 55 set assists. Sophomore Meghan Smith (Rochester Hills/Adams) led the defense with 33 digs. Junior Julia Longman (Climax-Scotts) had 15 digs.
Olivet continues MIAA
