Volleyball team loses to Kalamazoo in four games
The Olivet College volleyball team lost a four-game match (30-22, 27-30, 30-27, 30-27) to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Kalamazoo College tonight at the Anderson Athletic Center in Kalamazoo.

The Comets (3-12, 2-4 MIAA) were led by freshman Theresa Martin (Charlevoix), who had 13 kills and two attack errors on 30 attacks for a .367 hitting percentage. Freshman Sydney Kuipers (Charlotte) added 12 kills while freshman Mackenzie Heator (Union City) and senior Katie Schaum (Marshall) collected 10 kills apiece.
At the service line, Kuipers and sophomore Jessica Petkus (Milford) each recorded two aces. Petkus also had 52 set assists. Junior Kara Brinker (North Branch) and sophomore Meghan Smith (Rochester Hills/Adams) finished with six digs apiece to top the defense.
Olivet is next in action Saturday, Oct. 1, when it hosts Tri-State (Ind.) University at noon.
