Volleyball team beats Albion in four games
The Olivet College volleyball team defeated MIAA rival Albion College in four games (30-28, 30-23, 25-30, 30-23) tonight at Kresge Gymnasium in Albion.

The Olivet College volleyball team defeated MIAA rival Albion College in four games (30-28, 30-23, 25-30, 30-23) tonight at Kresge Gymnasium in Albion.
The Comets (3-8, 2-0 MIAA) were led by freshman Theresa Martin (Charlevoix), who had a team-high 15 kills. She had five attack errors in 36 attempts for a .278 hitting percentage. Senior Katie Schaum (Marshall) and freshman Sydney Kuipers (Charlotte) also finished with double digit kills with 12 and 11, respectively.
Schaum also had 20 digs, followed by junior Kara Brinker (North Branch) with 15 and Kuipers with 11. Sophomore Jessica Petkus (Milford) recorded 43 set assists while sophomore Meghan Smith (Rochester Hills/Adams) registered a team-high 33 digs.
Olivet will continue MIAA play Wednesday, Sept. 21, when it hosts Calvin College at 7 p.m.
